(mostly pictures and forgetful musings)

day one: the longest day in the whole world

[finnair cabin was great. the lights are cooler than they look.]

[it's in finnish. isn't that silly?]

[my view out of the window before we took off]

[i ate half of a terrible kosher meal while watching the breakfast club and tried sleeping.]

[this is us flying over england into germany in the world's stupidest connecting flight situation.]

[this is the group of people i went with ahead of me getting off the plane after 9 hrs and 50 minutes(i didn't want their faces, but it's really sad because i took the most adorable pictures of my friends, so i might have to update later with my friend's faces if they let me)]

[customs which i later found out that you were not supposed to take pictures of, but yolo. they had these terrifying biometric passport stations that made me feel like big brother was watching, but it's okay because that definitely was not the worst of it.]

[a cute hotel nook that i almost fell asleep in]

[the first telephone booth i saw and/or was able to take a picture of]

[us making our descent underground(blurry pictures will be a common theme (not on purpose))]

[back to the future the musical advertisement]

[we go down the escalator.]

[we are in the train and there is a menopause products advertisement there.]

[we make it out of there, and we can see westminster palace right as we're coming up, which is cool.]

[a better view of the palace]

[winnie? what are you doing here?]

[it started raining, as it typically does.]

[i don't remember what the context was for this, but i took a picture for a reason.]

[this is a tunnel. do you think we'll go through it?]

[we went through it.]

[this had to be one of the first cctv cameras i saw, because there would be no use taking pictures of them because they are so abundant. big brother was certainly watching me while i was in england.]

[admiralty arch which was much prettier than it looks in this photo but whatever]

[i took a picture of this cab because it looks weird (compared to the bright yellow ones we have in the us for all you non-americans out there)]

[the mosaic floors of the national gallery]

[a van gogh i had never seen before]

[this was my favorite painting there, but my flip phone camera does not really do it justice.]

[the architecture in this place was beautiful, and i should have spent more time taking pictures of this than all the paintings. the paintings were wonderful; i just don't think they look the greatest on my phone.]

[it was literally so beautiful. every room was extravagently embellished and i loved it. it kind of makes me sad that people push for more simplistic and/or minimalistic art galleries. fun fact about me: i am not a fan of minimalism.]

[i have pictures of all three of the people eating dinner with me falling asleep at the table because the day had been so long, but i don't want to put it on here until they say i can, but just understand the level of exhaustion we were feeling after our long two flights and then a full day of touring a city.]
