intro to my cds
some of the cds i find at shops in philly that are like 'take as much as you possibly can please' and some of them i got from my aunts old bedroom. one of them i got from japan, but i really don't like spending a ton of money, so i don't actually have that many but hope it'll accumulate with time.
my cds (in no particular order)
disintegration
the cure
my favorite things about it:
- the grey part in the picture of the cd is actually silver and shiny
- it says, "THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP" in the little thing with all the lyrics
- in terms of music, it's just a masterpiece. it's so so so good
cereal killers
too much joy
my favorite things about it:
- it's so indie and underground that i had to make my own png with the cd i own personally
- there is a whole section in the thingy with all the lyrics with just like thank yous and how they made it which is really cool
- the copyright thingy is "1991 people suck music/virgin music (ascap)"
- "tmj is jay blumenfield, tim quirk, sandy smallens and tommy vinton. it is also a way of life, a state of mind and a mouth disease." while, i'm sad they didn't use an oxford comma, when you look up tmj a mouth disease does come up rather than too much joy.
born to quit
smoking popes
my favorite things about it:
- so indie and underground you get a low-quality png of my personal cd again
- what it lacks in intricate design and personal touches, it makes up for in amazing music with great lyrics
- the lyric thingy doesn't have any lyrics but it does have a picture of all the band members smoking cigarettes
- said band members are pretty-looking so they definitely get a point for that
version 2.0
garbage
my favorite things about it:
- its little lyric thingy is like a little book with like four pages
- "this album was recorded on a 48-track digidesign pro tools system run on an apple 9500/200 power mac" which makes me feel like i'm a little time traveler (which is exactly how i want to feel every second of everyday)
- beautiful lyrics filled with anti-capitalist rhetoric
- they got a link to their website: garbage.com that is still like their website and they still make new music, which is awesome slay for garbage
in the aeroplane over the sea
neutral milk hotel
my favorite things about it:
- the poster is super cool, and i would hang it up if the lyrics weren't on the back of it
- even though i hate how the lyrics are set up where they pick random pieces of the songs to put in a big jumble of unorganized nonsense, there are still little notes from whoever put them together clarifying bits about some of the songs
- the electronic horn is so good and when the vocals are in unison with it, it sounds so good and it hits so hard.
- i got this from amoeba records in la which was super cool and apparently dave grohl was there the week before i was.
